Our love affair with this wonderful breed began in 1998, when we acquired
our first frenchie "Dalrite Light my Fire" (Flynt) from Rick & Nancy Gray.
A second companion "Britbull Abracadabra" (Abby) quickly followed, thanks
to Sandra & Ken Winter. We were warned that this would happen - who could
stop at just one frenchie !  Abby would prove to become the foundation
bitch of our kennels, and we sincerely thank our friends Ken & Sandra for this
special girl, who has given us such a wonderful start to our breeding programme.
Although complete novices, we entered several shows, and with advice and
encouragement from our friend and mentor Liz Davidson (Daccord Kennels),
. . . . . so began our passion.

In October 1999, we moved from the city to an 84 acre property in
the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, to pursue a country lifestyle with
our two frenchies.  The following year we established Frogwyck Kennels,
with the dream of breeding our very own french bulldogs.   We also became
very active within our breed club, and have developed close friendships
with like minded people who share our passion for the breed.  In 2005 we were
fortunate enough to import our own stud dog, Zodiac,  from the highly respected
Belboulecan Kennels in Canada.  We are so grateful to Dorit Fischler for entrusting
us with this boy, as he has produced quality, healthy progeny for us, including
many Champions. Our philosophy is to do our best to breed the healthiest,
true to type French Bulldogs that we can, and as serious and dedicated breeders,
we x-ray for spine and hip problems and screen for patella and palate problems
prior to breeding from Champion(s) who have proven themselves in the showring.

To date, we have bred 15 Australian Champions and 3 New Zealand Champions, including
Multi Best in Specialty Show and Royal winners. We have also had the honour to win
"Best Breeders Group" and "Best Sire's Progeny" at the April 2011 French Bulldog
Club of NSW Specialty Show under Mr. Glen Dymock (UK), and "Best Breeder" at the
French Bulldog Club of Victoria's May 2011 Specialty Show under Mr. John Williams (Ndl).

We raise our puppies in our home, with an emphasis on early socialisation with
other animals and children, and we are very proud of the excellent temperament
and overall health of our puppies.  We are therefore very selective with whom we
entrust with our "babies" and we expect new owners to be fully committed to the
care and welfare of their new puppy, which is why we only consider homes where
the owners can provide love, care and stimulation throughout the day.  Together with
all official paperwork, we provide new owners with a comprehensive breed specific
Puppy Booklet, Diet Sheet and Care Sheet, and vow to provide ongoing advice and support
for the life of their French Bulldog.

Due to the increasing popularity of the French Bulldog, more inexperienced newcomers are breeding puppies for profit only.

Avoid making a bad decision! An ethical, responsible breeder breeds to improve the health of the French Bulldog,

not just to create a "product" for sale. They know their dogs, study pedigrees, and health test their dogs before planning a

litter. Ideally there should be Champions listed in your puppy's pedigree. They are involved in breed club activities and

health schemes, and compete in the show ring with their dogs. Most will have a waiting list, so be prepared to wait for your

new puppy.
